  • Nearly 50%, or HALF, of all renters in this country are cost burdened?
  • Without housing assistance, there would only be one affordable unit for every 100 extremely low-income renters in the United States.
  • 42% of all household members assisted are children.
  • Of senior renters, nearly 51% are considered to be cost burdened - 23.7% are simply considered cost burdened, while 27.2% are considered extremely cost burdened.
    For every $1.00 we spend in our communities, $2.12 is returned to the local economy.
